Has the quality declined over the years?

I get the 2600 zine at a local book store and I like it but there's a lot of articles that I don't really care about.

It might be a good thing though.

2600 is locked into a format that was relevant 30-40 years ago and is nearly irrelevant today. In my opinion, 2600 is pantomiming a hacker aesthetic and have long since abandoned any commitment to an underlying hacker ethos.

I'm surprised that they're now offering a digital format as, at one point, they were taking a hard stance to not provide one. I guess they changed their mind within the last 10 years or so.

Notice how Paged Out is libre/free licensed, making sure that they provide a CC0, CC-BY or CC-BY-SA for their articles. 2600 is locked under copyright.

Is the adapter complex? It could be nice to post it on a blog or on the forum.

I've had this with multiple datadog libraries. Even offered to implement some features for the python one for free because we were missing a feature but they just never responded. Note that they had this feature in their php lib so it was not some outrageous demand.

The last couple commits were about pg18 support. Maybe development stalled, but didn't completely stop

While the effect being described is real to an extent, distilling it to the point you did is useless because there is so much more nuance. Why assume the place was staffed with first rate talent to begin with? And even if there is a lot of first rate talent many will stick around because they don't care who they serve (people not like this don't tend to make careers in government TBH).
